The Art of Garment Making

When I was in college, my parents gifted me a sewing machine for Christmas. That machine became one of my most prized possessions. I used it for 15 years making blankets, pillow covers, casserole dish carriers, apparel, and face masks (thank you covid.)

A few years ago my first sewing machine craped out and I splurged and bought an upgrade! After a couple really terrible attempts years prior, I starting really focusing on garment making. It was important to me to find a designer that made patterns that were easy to follow, simple, and beautiful. Finding a small maker was where I was determined to start.

Syd Graham is my girl! She has the easiest patterns that are truly staples in my closet. I've made her Lane Pants and Skyline dress over and over again. I can't recommend her enough! These patterns are not only staples in my closet; I really love waring them. There's something special about being able to say, "Thanks, I made it!" These are a few of my favorite makes from her Skyline Dress pattern.
